Great Sand Dunes National Park: Bison By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson, 2021
- Great Sand Dunes National Park: Bison
Great Sand Dunes National Park is a place like no other, a park and preserve nestled right in the heart of Colorado. Originally designated as a National Monument in 1932 by President Herbert Hoover, the 149,000-acre park receives close to half a million visitors per year. These dunes are the tallest in North America, with some reaching heights of 700 feet or more. Visitors can enjoy the park year round, at any time of the day or night. Anderson Design Group depicted the expansiveness of the dunes in this handcrafted illustration, a National Parks poster styled after the WPA-commissioned artwork of the early-1900s. Enjoy this illustration on your wall as a framed print, canvas banner, or metal sign. And to learn more about the park and its night views, visit the International Dark Sky Association.
