We often daydream of taking a 4X4 cruise on the Moon, but a few people actually did just that! In 1971, Apollo 15 became the first mission to use the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV). The LRV was a lightweight, electric vehicle designed to operate in the low-gravity vacuum of the Moon. It was capable of traversing the lunar surface, allowing Apollo astronauts to extend the range of their activities. Apollo 15 astronauts Jim Irwin and David Scott deployed the first Lunar Roving Vehicle on the Moon. During their 67-hour stay, they used the rover to make three separate trips beyond the Hadley-Apennine landing site. The perfect addition to your home or office decor and a unique and special gift for the space art fan in your life, this hand-rendered design and original illustration fashioned in the style of vintage poster art, space age art, and travel art will look great as a print, poster, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas.
