Perhaps the most famous road in the nation, Route 66 runs right through Missouri! Also called “The Mother Road,” Route 66 was established in 1926 and runs a whopping 2,448 miles from Chicago to Los Angeles. The section of Route 66 that passes through Missouri is 317 miles long and connects a variety of large cities and small towns while traversing rolling hills and valleys. Heading westbound the route travels through these Missourian cites and towns: St. Louis, Cuba, Rolla, Lebanon, Springfield, Carthage, and Joplin. Historic in every possible way, the Mother Road follows much of the Kickapoo, or Osage Trail, an Indian trail that later became the Old Wire Road. When one travels this road, they’re traveling in the footprints of people who have walked this trail for centuries. To celebrate the beautiful state of Missouri and the many reasons to visit it, the artists of Anderson Design Group created this classic design in the style of vintage 20th-century travel posters, retro art, and vintage poster art. Enjoy the art as a framed print, canvas, mini canvas, metal sign, postcard, or note card. To learn more about Missouri or to plan a trip there, check out the official website for Visit Missouri.
