NASA 1971: Apollo 15 Lunar Rover By Aaron Johnson, Joel Anderson, 2024

In 1971, Apollo 15 became the first mission to use the Lunar Roving Vehicle. The LRV was a lightweight, electric vehicle designed to operate in the low-gravity vacuum of the Moon. It was capable of traversing the lunar surface, allowing Apollo astronauts to extend the range of their extravehicular activities. Apollo 15 astronauts Jim Iwrin and David Scott deployed the first Lunar Roving Vehicle on the moon. During their 67-hour stay, they used the rover to make three separate trips beyond the Hadley-Apennine landing site. Rendered by the talented artists of Anderson Design Group, this retro-styled space travel illustration will look great as an art print, notecard, postcard, metal sign, canvas, or mini canvas.
