The Cliffs of Moher are vertical stone with a lush, green top which ends abruptly at the cliff's edge. On a clear day, the views are spectacular. From the cliff edge, you can feel the breath of the sea and hear the boom of crashing waves below. An iconic focal point crowning the cliff top is O'Brien's Castle, also called Furmina Castle—weathered ruins of an early 15th century tower house and National Monument located on the island of Inisheer, Ireland. The castle was built by the Clann Teige, a branch of the powerful O'Brien family, around 1400. It was taken by the O'Flahertys around 1582. It was captured and slighted (intentionally damaged) by Oliver Cromwell's army in 1652, during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. The artists of Anderson Design Group have rendered this vintage-looking original travel poster and retro illustration of the castle and cliffs in the classic style of the Golden Age of Travel art and vintage poster art. Available as a print, banner, canvas, sign, notecard, or postcard, this artwork would look stunning on any wall.
