Scotland: Eilean Donan Castle By Michael Korfhage, Joel Anderson, 2016
- Scotland: Eilean Donan Castle
Often called the most romantic castle in Scotland, Eilean Donan Castle is also one of the most visited castles in all of Europe. The castle rests on a small rocky island where three lochs meet. The original castle was built in the 13th century CE, though it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout the centuries. In fact, the castle had lain in ruins for about 200 years and was not restored to its former glory until the 20th century. Inspired by the dedicated preservation efforts of the Scottish people, Anderson Design Group crafted a vintage illustration of the castle, a classic travel poster fashioned after the WPA-commissioned works of the early-1900s. A fitting souvenir of a trip to the castle, you can take home this hand-drawn artwork as an art print, canvas banner, or framed postcard. To learn more, check out Visit Scotland.
