The 2019 State Parks Photo Contest

The 2019 State Parks Photo Contest

Thank you SO much for sharing your State Parks photos and memories with us! It is always a treat to see where our friends like to visit, explore, and unwind. Although we received many breathtaking photos, we chose three winners that especially inspired us to race to our desks and create a tribute poster in honor of that park. Below you will find the winning photos as well as a few of our favorite entries. Be sure to check the American National Monuments & Natural Wonders collection each month to see if your favorite state park gets poster-ized. Enjoy! The Icy Ins-and-Outs of Rocky Mountain NP (by Mike Baker)

The Icy Ins-and-Outs of Rocky Mountain NP (by Mike Baker)

Rocky Mountain National Park, surrounded by three National Forests and one Wilderness Area, fully deserves its designation as one of North America's 29 World Biosphere Reserves. It is certainly one of the country’s premier National Parks as well. Only a few hours from Denver, it’s accessible via Boulder and the Peak to Peak Highway through Nederland/Ward. If you happen to find yourself in Estes Park, RMNP is just to the southwest, making for tempting shots of the park's interior before even entering the gates! After orienting one's self at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center, it's easy to access some of the best...

(14 years later, we still have some of those old prints laying around!) Eventually, digital printing came along, allowing us to do shorter runs of 10-20 posters whenever we came up with a new design. We would store them in our archive cave and pull them off the shelf each time someone placed an order. After we had...

A Chicago Christmas (by Mike Baker)

A Chicago Christmas (by Mike Baker)

Whichever moniker you prefer – The City of Big Shoulders, The Windy City, or The City That Works – and whatever draws you here – architecture, food, sports, performing arts, museums, or shopping – Chicago is one of the most iconic cities in America. Though most choose to visit during more welcoming weather, Chicago is a great way to experience Christmas. A classic itinerary for enjoying the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the city during Christmas begins with a walk along Michigan Avenue to take in the Magnificent Mile. Beginning at the north end of the storied shopping district,...

Glory & Gratitude in Shenandoah National Park (by Mike Baker)

Glory & Gratitude in Shenandoah National Park (by Mike Baker)

"The Shenandoah you see today is a complex mixture of human history and natural forces–the result of the life and times of the nation that owns it," reads a display at The Byrd Visitor Center in Shenandoah National Park. When one visits Shenandoah National Park, experiences its beauty, and learns how it came to be, it's hard not to be deeply grateful for such a place. The park's solitude and serenity, existing in such close proximity to our nation's capitol, did not happen by accident. Shenandoah as we know it today is the result of men and women who sacrificed their time,...
